Nikki is
a Blue
and Gold Macaw (Ara ararauna) who has allowed us to share his space for several years. Nikki
comes to us from the
Hagen Avicultural
Research Institute via Specht's Aquarium
and Pets in Victoria, BC. Henry worked at Specht's before moving to PEI in
hopes of attending the Atlantic Veterinary College.
Admittedly,
Nikki is a feisty Macaw. Not the love and cuddle type of personality you see in
many
captive raised birds. But, with time and attention (LOTS of attention!), he
is coming along nicely and has made a wonderful addition to our family. As long
as he is sure the world revolves around his pretty little head, things are
fine!
